Kenton Doust FootGolf Fundraiser
As many of you have already heard, Kenton and his family are in Vancouver at BC Children’s Hospital dealing with a health crisis. On Oct 10th, Kenton was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital by ambulance. Once there, a CT scan showed two bodies in his brain. The decision was made to airlift Kenton the next day to BC Children’s Hospital.
The Neurosurgeon at BC Children’s Hospital advised that Kenton had fluid and tumors on his brain. An MRI on Sunday revealed 3 brain tumors on/near his Pituitary gland. On Oct 14th, Kenton had surgery to remove the fluid build up and to biopsy the tumors. Kenton’s 3 tumors are malignant and the best course of treatment is Chemotherapy. The first phase of Kenton’s treatment will be 4 rounds of Chemo at the Children’s Hospital. Starting Oct 30th, Kenton will undergo 3 days of Chemo followed by 21 days off. This will continue for 4 rounds. Once Kenton completes this phase of treatment, the doctors will reassess and determine the next phase which could be surgery, radiation or more chemo.
As you can imagine, Kenton’s family, parents Len and Ivonne and sister Natalia need to concentrate all of their energy on getting Kenton better. While the family has the support of Y.A.N.A. for accommodations, there are always extra costs in these situations. If we band together as a community, we can make a difference for this family – let’s take the financial worry away from them. Kenton has completed his first phase of Chemo, as a Community we want to support this family and so we are putting on FootGolf Tournament to raise support to help Kenton and his family |
